Welcome to The First Tee of Greater Richmond! The First Tee uses golf as the platform to teach youth life lessons and leadership skills. Sessions include a fun, group setting for youth ages 4 to 18 regardless of background or previous experience. Teaming up with experts in positive youth development, The First Tee helps youth become good golfers and even better people. The First Tee emphasizes Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment. Through golf and The First Tee Nine Core Values, participants will learn life skills such as resolving conflicts, setting goals, and planning for the future. Participants progress through different levels by demonstrating The First Tee Nine Core Values and golf skills as well as passing assessments.
- All participants regardless of age or skill level start at the PLAYer level.
- No equipment is needed – The First Tee can provide all necessary equipment.
- Please ask us about scholarships! All youth receiving free or reduced lunch services can attend The First Tee at minimal cost.
